OTA

  • Associates degree required
  • Academic program accredited by AOTA’s ACOTE
  • Completes observation and supervised fieldwork
  • NBCOT COTA certification and licensed
  • Provides treatments to patients under supervision of occupational therapist


OT Aide

  • High school degree required
  • Programs are not accredited by AOTA’s ACOTE
  • Receive their training on the job
  • Not eligible for certification or licensure
  • Provides supportive services to the occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant
