Job Description:

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Sitter Companions to assist a not-for-profit organization in White Plains, NY. As a Companion / Sitter, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals in need, fostering their independence and enhancing their overall well-being.

Direct Support Professional Responsibilities:

• Assist, monitor, and teach individuals in the preparation of daytime activities, encouraging good personal hygiene and appropriate behavior in their home or apartment.
• Collaborate with the Direct Care Supervisor to assess each individual's abilities, interests, and areas of need towards independent living.
• Participate in the development of Individualized Service Plans (ISP) and align staff behavior and interaction with individuals to achieve the goals set forth within each ISP.
• Provide guidance in budgeting skills and teach self-medication according to DMR regulations, with appropriate supervision in medication administration.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience with developmentally disabled individuals required for DSP work.

Sitter Companions Responsibilities:

• Assist with eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring patients.
• Provide one-on-one bedside companion care.
• Accompany individuals to scheduled activities and walk with them as needed.
• No experience required!
